Fair Housing

GIM Property Management is fully committed to complying with the Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. §§ 3601-3619), which prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, financing, and advertising of dwellings, as well as in other housing-related transactions. This law covers discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), familial status, and disability.

We are dedicated to ensuring that every applicant, tenant, and resident is treated with respect and provided equal access to housing opportunities. We maintain strict policies to prevent discriminatory practices in all aspects of property management, including tenant screening, lease agreements, and rental terms. Our commitment to fair housing extends to our advertising practices, ensuring that all listings and promotions are inclusive and free from discriminatory language.

If you believe you have experienced discrimination in violation of the Fair Housing Act, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD). For more information on your rights, please visit the HUD Fair Housing website.

Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)

At GIM Property Management, we are committed to full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (42 U.S.C. §§ 12101-12213). This federal law prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in areas such as housing, employment, public accommodations, and transportation. We take proactive steps to ensure that our properties and services are accessible to all.

We will make reasonable modifications to our policies, practices, and procedures to accommodate persons with disabilities. This includes, but is not limited to, making physical modifications to properties where necessary to ensure accessibility. If you require a reasonable accommodation or modification, please reach out to our team, and we will work diligently to meet your needs in accordance with the ADA.

For concerns regarding ADA compliance, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice or the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. Additional resources can be found on the ADA website.

Massachusetts State Laws

In addition to federal laws, GIM Property Management complies with all applicable Massachusetts state and local fair housing laws. Massachusetts fair housing regulations extend protections to include sexual orientation, gender identity, age, marital status, military status, ancestry, genetic information, and receipt of public assistance.

We adhere to these state laws by ensuring that all aspects of property management, from advertising and applications to tenant screening and eviction processes, are conducted in a fair and non-discriminatory manner. We also provide training to our staff to ensure compliance with both federal and state regulations.

If you believe you have been subject to discrimination under Massachusetts law, you may contact the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) or the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office for assistance.
